We enjoyed some strawberry milkshakes Saturday night to celebrate
my half birthday.
We had a super fun weekend.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find my camera part of the weekend so we didn't catch it all on film.  Saturday morning Maya, Lucy, Edison, and I went to a local farm to pick strawberries.  It was such a warm day, the kids came home and changed into their swimsuits and ran through the sprinklers.  We spent Saturday evening at Forsyth Park enjoying the sidewalk chalk art.  It was so fun to see - wish I would have had my camera!

Clay's hair is finally settling down and looking cute.
Today we tackled our April family service project.  We decided to make some cookies to deliver to the firestation.  Edison was so excited to talk to a real fireman and to tell him that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up.  The whole ride home he told us all about how he will drive the truck, climb the ladder, spray the water...  He has some big plans!

Lions and Tigers and Rock Walls and Rides! Oh my!

We spent a super fun Satruday at Riverbanks Zoo with our friends The Mayes'.  We saw lots of great animal exhibits and had a blast at the other attractions.  Here are some of the highlights.

We started the day feeding the giraffes. The kids loved it! The giraffes were friendly and hungry!  We also fed the goats at the barnyard.  Edison always opened his mouth along with the animals.

Clay was too small and Isabel was too big,
but the rest of the kids all enjoyed a pony ride.

Maya & Lucy showed off their monkey skills on the climbing trees and rock wall.

Maya really wanted to try the ropes course so Annabelle and I decided we would go with her.  It didn't seem so high until we started climbing!  If you look closely you can see Annabelle in the red shirt with me next to her in the middle of the picture.

Clay's favorite attractions were the fans that would blow cool air as we walked by.

Isabel decided to pass up the rock wall in favor of some ice cream.

And of course you can't leave the zoo without riding the carousel.

Double Digits!

Happy Birthday Isabel!
It's hard to believe that we have a girl in the double digits now!  I guess we've officially entered the tween stage.  Yikes!
Isabel had a great time celebrating her birthday with her closest friends.  They did some craft projects and then camped out in the backyard.  There was more giggling than I've heard since I was her age!  I went out to the tent around 11:30 to sleep with them and they were still going strong.  I am not sure exactly what time they finally fell asleep.

Kaiya, Mandolin, & Elise have been Isabel's very best friends
since their days together in three year old preschool.

Cheers!

Isabel has been wishing for a loft bed for quite a while now, so for her birthday Greg is going to build one for her.  Hopefully it will be done before her next birthday...

Happy Easter!

Staycation Part II
We've had a fun week preparing for and celebrating Easter.  We finished up our staycation list, attended a few egg hunts, and made some fun goodies.  Here are a few of the highlights.

Bunnies & Chicks
Lucy and Edison had the opportunity to hold and pet lots of little critters at Lucy's Easter Party at her preschool.  The baby bunnies were the favorite, but Edison also loved the green tortise.  We also visited the chick hatchery at the mall where the kids got to hold brand new baby chicks.  Those are Maya's cute little hands in the picture.

Lucy painted a little cup for ice cream.
We spent an afternoon at the local pottery shop painting and crafting.  Edison, Lucy, and Maya each painted some pottery and Isabel made a glass fusion picture frame.  Everything will be fired and ready for pick-up this week.  We are excited to see how it all turned out.
Maya painted a little cup to put 'stuff' in.
Edison painted a triangle shaped plate to
eat waffles on.  His idea, not mine!

Isabel making her first glass fusion project.

Here's the frame completed before firing.  The glass will all
melt together when it gets hot.

A few more fun times...

Edison and Lucy at egg hunt 2 of 3.

Isabel and her friends Kaiya & Elise made some cute chick cake pops.

The kids had a great time finding all the eggs
the Easter Bunny left for them.

Happy Easter from our family to you!

Such Cute Kids!

I just couldn't resist posting these few super cute pics.
His shirt says it all!

Edison has a bizarre obsession with the color green.
All his green clothes must have been dirty this day, but
at least he has his green shoes & green hat to
go with his green Easter basket.

Lucy and Edison were waiting for our friend Ms. Brandi
to come get them for an Easter egg hunt.

Lucy used to have a shirt that said, "My daddy does my hair."
Clay needs one of those :)

Clay's new favorite place to fall asleep.

Happy Birthday to Maya!

Maya turned 8 yesterday!  We had a fun day celebrating.  She had some friends over for a tea party at lunch and then her two best friends and their families stayed all day and enjoyed Maya's birthday dinner with us.  She requested homemade pasta with meatballs.  It was a super fun day!

What a lucky girl to have so many
sweet friends!

We worked all week to get Maya's room redone as her birthday present.  She
was so excited to see it all put together Saturday morning.  The hanging chair
we made her was a big hit!
